Grants awarded for Southern End projects

The Commonwealth Financing Authority recently approved three grants that will benefit projects in the Southern End. The grants were secured by Pennsylvania House Republican leader Bryan Cutler and Sen. Scott Martin.

The Christiana Historical Society will receive $232,187 to build a new indoor/outdoor recreation area at Brinton House Park. The other two projects are related to the Enola Low Grade Trail: A grant for $250,000 will go toward the re-decking of the Bart Township Bridge along the trail, and $250,000 has been allotted for a connector into Quarryville Borough on the trail.

Martin noted the three grants will go toward improving recreational opportunities in southern Lancaster County, and Cutler commented that the projects may further local economic development.
