Off the Streets is a national organization that help people experiencing homelessness to secure permanent housing. The local chapter serves Middletown and the surrounding communities in Dauphin County. In the all-volunteer chapter's first year - beginning in May 2023 - it partnered with county agencies to provide assistance to more than 40 families throughout the county.

Off the Streets works with social service agencies to identify individuals and families that have the financial means to pay monthly rent but may need assistance with up-front money for a security deposit. Off the Streets provides the security deposit directly to the landlord.

Many people experiencing homelessness have lost most, if not all, their material goods. To help settle these people into their new homes, Off the Streets helps to provide the basics, including beds, dressers, chairs, tables, bedding, and kitchen ware. Most of these items are donated. Off the Streets also provides volunteers to help with the moves.

Community partners include Middletown Interfaith Council, Shalom House, HELP Ministries, the Harrisburg Center for Peace and Justice, Catholic Charities, Middletown Area and Steelton-Highspire school districts, United Way, Dauphin County Human Services, Family Promise HCR, the Fair Housing Council of the Capital Region, the Capital Area Coalition on Homelessness, Bethesda Mission, THRIVE Housing Services, and Tri County Community Action.

Off the Streets Middletown is a 501(c)(3) charity affiliated with Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
