Jessica Blouch, vice president of the board of directors, shared information about the organization and its participation in Give Local York, a countywide day of fundraising set for Friday, May 1.

What is the mission of Pitties.Love.Peace?

We are an all-volunteer group of dedicated people devoted to the rescue of pit bull and bully mix puppies and adult dogs. Our primary focus is helping dogs in need within central Pennsylvania. Our mission is to rescue dogs in need, to advocate for the bully breeds that are so misunderstood and to educate people about pit bull and pit bull-type dogs.

Why is the organization excited to participate in Give Local York this year?

Pitties.Love.Peace is excited to participate in Give Local York, alongside so many other amazing nonprofits, because it's a great opportunity to engage the community and share our mission. Having a large platform to raise funds is of course wonderful, but it's more than that. When the community comes together to support local charities with so much love and generosity, it's a reminder that together we can make an incredible difference.
