What is the mission of Maryland & Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society?

Our mission is to preserve and share this historic railroad village and the very important role railroads played in the economic and cultural development of towns and rural communities throughout America before the evolution of the automobile.

Why is the organization excited to participate in Give Local York this year?

Any chance for us to reach out and draw attention to ourselves is something we get excited about. Obviously, we are very interested in donations, but Give Local York also allows us the opportunity to introduce ourselves to folks who are actively pursuing a way to make a difference in our local community. Passionate volunteers abound here; we hope they find us.
