What is the mission of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank?

The mission of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank is fighting hunger, improving lives, and strengthening communities. More than 55,000 individuals struggle with hunger in York County, and as the largest charitable food organization in the county, we provide meals to more than 100 partner agencies and programs in the county. Throughout its 27 counties, including York, the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank serves more than 135,000 individuals every month.

Why is the organization excited to participate in Give Local York this year?

This our second year participating in Give Local York. As the largest charitable food distributor in York County, we provide meals to more than 55,000 individuals in the county. Through our network we are able to provide better access to better food - including fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy, and center-of-the-plate proteins. By participating in Give Local York, we will be able to provide even more meals throughout York County. We have a goal to raise $25,000 through this campaign, which will help us provide more than 150,000 meals to those in need in York County. The money raised through Give Local York will help us fund our many programs, including those aimed at children, families, seniors, veterans, and active duty military personnel in our communities.
