GEARS sets fitness activities, trip

Chair Yoga will be offered from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesdays, Aug. 14 to Sept. 4, at Fighting Dragons, 101 Cherry St., Elizabethtown. Using the support of a chair, participants will perform the movements in a seated or standing position. The class is for people age 14 and up.

Feel Good Yoga, for people age 14 and older of all fitness levels, will be offered from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursdays, Aug. 15 to Sept. 5, at Masonic Village Carpenter Chapel, 1244 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown. Participants should bring a yoga mat and yoga block.

A Fall Into the Curve Bus Trip to Altoona will be held on Friday, Oct. 4, with departure at 5 a.m. from the parking lot of Clearview Lanes, 1990 W. Main St., Mount Joy. The trip will include a tour of the Blair Candy Company, a visit to the Horseshoe Curve, lunch, a visit to the Wall That Heals, a stop at the Railroaders Memorial Museum, and a wine tasting at Oak Spring Winery.

Two tai chi classes will be held in the basement of Masonic Village Carpenter Chapel, 1244 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown, on Tuesdays from July 9 to Sept. 24, with no class on July 16 or Aug. 6. Introduction to Tai Chi will take place from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. for individuals who are new to tai chi or who have not practiced in years. This class will focus on a 10-step Taiji form that introduces the basic postures of tai chi. Advanced Tai Chi will be held from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. for individuals familiar with the basic postures of tai chi, and it will integrate these postures with new moves.
