Two tai chi classes will be offered on Tuesdays, Oct. 4 to Dec. 6, in the basement of the Masonic Village's Carpenter Chapel, 1244 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown.

Introduction to Tai Chi, for people new to tai chi or those who have not practiced in years, will be held from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Students will learn a simple 10-step taiji form. Advanced Tai Chi (Forms, Weapons, and San Shou), which integrates new moves and weapon forms with the postures learned in the introductory class, will be available from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.

GEARS will offer a Wills, Trusts and Estates class on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center, 70 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown. Thomas S. Beckley, esquire, will share introductory material to give attendees a working knowledge of the law as it related to estates. Topics will include the definition of a will, what happens if a person does not have a will, how to make a will, the definition of a trust, why a person might need or want a trust, and what is involved with administering an estate. Questions about particular circumstances will be welcomed.

GEARS will be hold tryouts and skill evaluations for the 2022-23 Travel Basketball Leagues in the gym at Bear Creek School, 1459 Sheaffer Road, Elizabethtown. All girls and boys in fifth and sixth grades are welcome to try out. Girls' team tryouts will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 to 10 a.m. and Monday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. Boys' tryouts will take place on Oct. 15 from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. and Oct. 17 from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m.

Travel teams will participate in Lancaster/Lebanon. They will practice two or three days per week and play games as scheduled. The season, including practices, will begin in early November and run through the end of January. A fee is due after players are selected for the teams.
