GEARS and the Elizabethtown Area Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the completion of renovations on the second floor of the former Poplar Street School building. During the event, guests had the opportunity to explore the updated space.

GEARS has been using other areas of the building for many years, and the newly completed renovation project fulfilled a vision more than 30 years in the making. The second-floor expansion will be used for public recreation opportunities, including fitness classes, dance and gymnastics, adult enrichment programs, and expanded child care services. The area will include five classrooms totaling about 4,500 square feet of program space, as well as a customer lounge, restrooms, and storage space.
