Garman, Armato Recognized
Bailey Garman and Sophia Armato have been selected as October's Seniors of the Month at Manheim Central High School. The Manheim Women's Club sponsors the Girls of the Month, and the Rotary Club of Manheim sponsors the Boys of the Month. Honorees are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character and involvement within the school and community.
Bailey, 17, is the son of Brett and Jennifer Garman of Manheim. He is president of Science National Honor Society and a member of National Honor Society, Diversity and Inclusion Club, Science Olympiad, Baron Stage, and the jazz band. In the community, he is a member of his church band and has volunteered at the Global Leadership Summit. Bailey plans to attend college, with the goal of earning a medical degree and working in a hospital.
Sophia, 17, is the daughter of Christopher and Jessica Armato of Manheim. She is the historian for Spanish Club, treasurer of Spanish National Honor Society, an Attollo Scholar, and a member of Interact Club, Amnesty International, Rho Kappa, French Club, National Honor Society, and the field hockey team. She has received first and second honors throughout high school, won the Rotary 10th-Grade History Award, and was the January 2021 Student of the Month. Sophia is a member of the youth group at Lancaster Brethren in Christ and plays club hockey with the Alleycats. She owns Sophia Armato Signs. After graduation, Sophia plans to spend a year focusing on service and discipleship and then attend Eastern Mennonite University to major in Spanish and education and play field hockey.
