The Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (GCFP) hosted a flower show titled "From Sea to Shining Sea" at Longwood Gardens on Sept. 10 and 11. Seven clubs from the GCFP's District 1 sponsored the show.

Elverson Garden Club had 14 members on the planning committee and eight members who entered the competition, winning some blue ribbons. The members who participated are Lisa Cherpanich, who won first place in the Petite Design class and who also won the Overall Best Petite Design Award; Anne Howe; Wendy Fox; Heather Heltzinger; Pat and Paul Sheetz; Janice Wampler; and Mary Wickerham.
