Strasburg Community Park and Strasburg Fire Company will present a Bingo, Baskets & Beef BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 5. at the Strasburg Fire Hall, located at 203 W. Franklin St., Strasburg. Proceeds will benefit the Strasburg Community Parks Foundation and Strasburg Fire Company.

According to Barb Rathbone-Frank, Strasburg Community Parks Foundation board member and bingo chairperson, the two groups partnered together to hold their first bingo event in March, and it was a big success. Because the event was so popular, seating will be expanded into the engine bay area for the upcoming bingo night.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. for a beef barbecue dinner, and attendees will be able to purchase bingo admission for regular bingo cards, special game cards and gift basket tickets.

Bingo games will start at 6 p.m. Admission will include a sheet pack of 10 standard games. Players may purchase additional sheet packs but must purchase at least one sheet pack for entry. Cash bingo prizes will be offered with additional options for special prize games.

No advance tickets or reservations will be taken. All tickets will be sold on-site at the door on Oct. 5. All individuals must purchase a pack for 10 games of bingo for admission. Additional special bingo game cards will also be available for purchase. Purchases for bingo cards and supplies must be made in cash.

The Strasburg Fire Company will prepare and serve beef barbecue sandwiches and other dinner items with prices a la carte. Proceeds from sales of food will benefit the Strasburg Fire Company.

The Strasburg Community Parks Foundation will coordinate the bingo games and sales of tickets for the gift baskets throughout the evening. All proceeds from bingo games and ticket sales will benefit the Strasburg Community Park. The park includes walking trails, and free concerts are offered each summer in the park's amphitheater.

All children being admitted to bingo must be able to sit quietly. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and the adults must have purchased standard bingo cards for admission.
