"Fostering Hope" Event Planned

During National Foster Care Month, COBYS Family Services (COBYS) invites the public to learn about foster care and adoption on Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oregon Dairy, 2900 Oregon Pike, Lititz. Fostering Hope: Families Wanted is a family-friendly drop-in event designed to help educate the community about foster care and adoption.

Staff will be available to provide information and answer questions. Foster and adoptive parents will share their experiences and insights in an informal setting.

An activity table and a playground will offer children opportunities to play. COBYS' staff will also be available to discuss the requirements and process to pursue becoming an approved foster or adoptive resource family with COBYS.

During this awareness event, staff will be available in front of the market and the restaurant to answer questions about foster care and adoption; those asking questions will have a chance to win a gift card to Oregon Dairy. Those who talk with a foster or adoptive parent outside of The Milkhouse will receive free mini scoops of ice cream for their family to enjoy while supplies last.
