"For the Girl" scheduled in New Holland

Last spring, Megan Feveryear helped bring the "Clothed in Dignity" conference for women to the New Holland Church of the Nazarene. Now, Feveryear and a couple of well-known female musicians are planning a second conference, dubbed "For the Girl," at the church, and Feveryear is brimming with excitement about the event. "We will try to wake up all these women super early and kick-start it with a time of worship with Cami Shrock," said Feveryear, who noted that Shrock is originally from New Holland, but later moved to Indianapolis and is now a CCM recording artist.

For the Girl, which is open to women of all ages, will be held at the New Holland Church of the Nazarene, 428 Ranck Road, New Holland, on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. There is a cost to attend the conference for all registered participants, with an added fee for an optional lunch.

According to Feveryear, worship with Shrock will be followed by Feveryear's own presentation to the gathering. "I will bring a message that I hope will impact some people," she shared, adding that the morning will conclude with games that are suitable for people of all ages and are meant to get people up and moving around and talking with other attendees.

Following lunch, Ashton Brooke Gill, an "American Idol" alumna, will lead music. "We will have breakout sessions," continued Feveryear. "We will speak on a number of topics, including identity, your calling, your purpose, and life in general." The afternoon session will conclude with more worship and a full-audience question-and-answer session. "We have everything timed out for a full day," said Feveryear.

Feveryear, who is originally from New Holland, but now lives in Nashville, said that the previous conference in New Holland went so well that not only is this one planned, but also more events will be held in other areas. "Last year, it was just at New Holland, and they graciously offered to host again," explained Feveryear, "but God opened doors to other places." Those other places will include Christ Church, a large nondenominational church in Nashville, as well as another venue in LaGrange, Ky. "We are a little nervous, (but) we are excited to see what God has opened up and what He's doing," said Feveryear.

Women who wish to take part in the conference may register ahead of time by searching for "For the Girl Conference" at http://www.eventbrite.com. Individuals may also register at the church on the day of the event. More information about the conference may be found by searching for "For the Girl Conference" on Facebook.
