Flu and Pneumonia Vaccinations Available

The Giant Company, known locally as Giant and Martin's, has announced that flu and pneumonia vaccinations are now available at all in-store pharmacies.

Walk-ins are welcome, but customers may make an appointment if they prefer. Most insurance plans, including Medicare Part B, cover recommended flu vaccinations with little or no out-of-pocket cost. In addition, customers who receive an eligible flu vaccination and present their Giant or Martin's card, will receive an offer for a set amount off a future grocery purchase, subject to program terms and conditions.

Historically, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended annual influenza vaccinations for everyone six months and older, ideally by the end of October. Vaccination is particularly important for people who are at increased risk of serious flu-related complications, including adults age 65 and older, pregnant women, and people with certain chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, or heart and lung disease. Customers should speak with their pharmacist or health care provider about vaccines that may be appropriate for them.

Other vaccinations available at Giant and Martin's pharmacies include measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR); COVID-19; and pneumococcal vaccinations. Available vaccinations and eligibility ages vary by location and are subject to state regulations. Immunizations are administered by pharmacists and specially trained pharmacy team members, subject to state regulations.
