Festival To Benefit Second Grace

An Artisan Fall Festival will take place on Friday, Oct. 8, from 1 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 9, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at High Cross Farm, 1610 Landis Road, Mount Joy. This family-friendly, outdoor event, a partnership between Creatively Lancaster and Second Grace, will include more than 50 makers, food trucks, live music, and a fire pit. Proceeds will benefit the local nonprofit Second Grace, which was founded by Candy Abel.

When Abel appeared in family court to represent the interests of young children as a volunteer court-appointed special advocate, she realized that in many cases, the teen mothers were as much victims as their children. With the help of several advisers in the social work and psychology fields, Abel started Second Grace to provide a nonjudgmental mentoring program to guide the teen mothers on the path to success.

The Artisan Fall Festival will follow state and federal guidelines regarding COVID-19 safety measures.
