The organizers of the Elizabethtown Fair have announced that copies of the premium book for the 49h annual fair are now available. These books include information on livestock and competitive exhibits as well as contests for children and adults. Copies of the book may be obtained at Brandt's Farm Supply, 601 E. High St., Elizabethtown; Elizabethtown Borough Office, 600 S. Hanover St.; Groff Meats, 33 N. Market St., Elizabethtown; White Oak Mills, 419 W. High St., Elizabethtown; Winters Heritage House Museum, 47 E. High St., Elizabethtown; B & G Lumber, 212 W. High St.; Messick's, 1475 Strickler Road, Mount Joy; J. B. Hostetter and Sons, 1225 W. The original artwork, painted by and donated to the Elizabethtown Fair by Nancy Landis, will be auctioned off at the annual Elizabethtown Fair Auction on Friday, Aug. 26, at approximately 9 p.m. The painting celebrates the fair's exhibitors and volunteers.

The 49th annual fair will run from Monday to Saturday, Aug. 22 through Aug. 27. Area FFA members, 4-H members, and others will show their dairy and beef cattle, sheep, swine, goats, and rabbits during competitive judging held throughout the week. Residents of all ages are encouraged to enter their crafts, needlework, baked goods, produce, and plants in the competitive exhibits judging held annually at the Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ Church, located at 996 E. High St., adjacent to the fairgrounds. Needlecraft (Department 18) and Art, Photography and Crafts (Department 19) entries will be received at the Elizabethtown BIC Church fellowship hall on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. All other entries will be received on Monday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lego and K'Nex creations will only be accepted on Aug. 21 and 22.
