Extension Posts York County Crops Day

York County Crops Day will be held on Thursday, Jan. 27, at the York County 4-H Center, 771 Stoverstown Road, York. Those who arrive early at 8 a.m. may have breakfast before the program, which will begin at 9 a.m.

Penn State Extension field and forage crops specialists will recap crop production in 2021, discuss new innovations for the coming season, and provide information on the latest agronomic research. Presentations will include a review of crop diseases in 2021, a marestail management and research update, information about optimizing herbicide applications and timing, information about risk communication, and mandatory annual Dicamba training, for a total of two core and four private/category 01 credits. Maryland pesticide credits and CCA credits will also be available.

New for 2022, participants will have the opportunity to participate in "Stop the Bleed" life-saving training for no additional fee.

The cost of the event includes breakfast and lunch. The fee will be discounted for those who register before Thursday, Jan. 20. Preregistration is preferred, but walk-ins will be accepted.
