Extension Plans Walking Program

Penn State Extension invites community members to participate in the free virtual walking program Everybody Walk Across Pennsylvania from Monday, April 11, to Monday, June 6. People may walk individually or gather family members, friends, or co-workers to form a team of up to five members. Even dogs can be team members.

Everybody Walk Across Pennsylvania was developed with social support and fun built in to help people meet wellness goals. This program assists participants with increasing activity, other aspects of personal wellness, and more fully understanding the benefits of these efforts. This program is not competitive.

Walking an average of 10 miles per week, or completing the equivalent through other forms of exercise, at a convenient time and place is suggested. All who are registered will receive weekly emails with encouragement to keep walking as well as strategies for eating healthy.

While there is no cost to participate, registration is required by Friday, March 25. For more information and to register, visit https://extension.psu.edu/everybody-walk-across-pa. For assistance with registering or to register by phone, call Extension Registration Services at 877-345-0691 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.
