Events to Highlight Food

Lancaster VegFest will be held on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7, and Lancaster Vegan Restaurant Week will take place from June 6 through Sunday, June 14.

Lancaster VegFest will be located at Buchanan Park, 901 Buchanan Ave., Lancaster, from noon to 5 p.m. both days, with VIP entry beginning at 11 a.m. The family-friendly festival - now celebrating its 10th anniversary - focuses on plant-based food, compassionate living, and community connection.

Founded in 2017 by organizer Courtney Kokus, Lancaster VegFest started with 35 vendors and more than 3,000 attendees in Musser Park in its first year. After quickly outgrowing its original location, the event moved to Buchanan Park in 2018, and since then it has continued to expand, drawing thousands of attendees each year.

This year's festival will feature more than 100 vendors from across the country, offering plant-based food, artisan products, and eco-conscious goods. The festival's presenting sponsor, Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative, will host an organic farmers market, offering fresh local produce and ready-to-eat fruit.Guests may also enjoy live music, a beer garden, chef demonstrations, speakers, free yoga from West End Yoga Studio, and a wide range of children's activities, including bubbles, crafts, games, and a fairy. A special 10-year anniversary photo booth will also help commemorate the milestone celebration.

Admission to Lancaster VegFest is free, with donations accepted to support the Lancaster Farm Sanctuary's work in animal rescue, lifelong care, and humane education. VIP tickets include early entry, a reusable 2026 festival tote, samples, coupons, and 10 giveaway drawing tickets. New this year, VIP ticket holders will have access to an all-day VIP line at the vendor Vegan Treats.

Restaurant Week will celebrate both longtime purveyors of vegan food and restaurants newly embracing vegan offerings. Participating locations include Rachel's Cafe & Creperie, Bad Garden Kitchen, Annie Bailey's Irish Public House, and Taj Mahal.

A percentage of proceeds from participating Restaurant Week specials will be donated to Lancaster Farm Sanctuary.
