Event to Focus on Overdose Awareness and Grief

In observance of International Overdose Awareness Day, the Pathways Center for Grief & Loss, a program of Hospice & Community Care, will host "Let's Talk About Grief" on Monday, Aug. 31. The program will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pathways Center, 4075 Old Harrisburg Pike, Mount Joy.

International Overdose Awareness Day is an annual campaign to remember those who have died from overdose, reduce stigma surrounding substance use disorder, and recognize the lasting grief experienced by families and friends left behind. This year's event at the Pathways Center will feature keynote speaker Laura Hatton, who will share her family's experience following the death of her daughter, Kat Spidle, from an overdose. Hatton will discuss the impact of addiction on her family, the challenges of grief, and the ways her family continues to find healing.

There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. To register, visit http://www.hospicecommunity.org/oad or call the Pathways Center at 717-391-2413.
