Governor Dick Environmental Center, 3283 Pinch Road, Mount Gretna, will offer special events. Programs are open to the public, but preregistration is required by contacting 717-964-3808 or governordick@hotmail.com and providing a name and phone number. Attendees should meet at the Environmental Center.

Story Forest: Bats! will be offered for children on Friday, Sept. 23, at 10:30 a.m. The program will include a story time, activities, and a craft. There is a fee.

Participants in a Teddy Bear Hike on Saturday, Sept. 24, may bring their favorite teddy bear for a hike in the woods to learn about Pennsylvania's black bear. The program will begin at 1 p.m., and a fee applies.

The Golden Eagle Hikers will gather for a hike of 2 to 3 miles on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 1:30 p.m. People over age 50 may participate, and there is no fee.
