Empty Bowls fundraiser planned

Lancaster Creative Factory, in collaboration with Meals on Wheels of Lancaster, will host the 12th Empty Bowls Fundraising Event on Sunday, April 27, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. For this event, local artists create and donate ceramic bowls, and local restaurants donate soup, bread, and desserts. In exchange for a monetary donation, guests attend a meal and may keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world.

The upcoming fundraiser will offer more than 400 ceramic bowls made by more than 20 artists at Lancaster Creative Factory. Volunteers from Lancaster Creative Factory are also helping to organize the event.

In addition to the meal, the fundraiser will include live music by Easily Amused and an art auction. The proceeds of the event will benefit Meals on Wheels of Lancaster, which provides meals to older adults and individuals with disabilities.

Meals on Wheels and Lancaster Creative Factory's goal is to raise over $15,000, which is the amount that was raised at the last Empty Bowls.

Lancaster Creative Factory is a nonprofit organization that offers opportunities to explore and experience the arts while providing the community a creative, collaborative space.
