The Draggin' Wagons Car Club will hold its annual fall car show on Sunday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Honey Brook Food Pantry, 5064 Horseshoe Pike (Route 322), Honey Brook.

The show will feature all makes and models of antique, classic and custom vehicles, including muscle cars, antique cars, motorcycles, street rods and trucks.

"It's a great cause, and you see everybody coming together to contribute to that," said Ray Marvin, vice president of the club. "We get hundreds of spectators, and it's just amazing. These families, young families, young and old people, they come in, and the car people are so welcoming."

Those who display their vehicles at the show are asked to make a registration donation, as all proceeds from the show benefit local foundations. Registration will take place on the day of the show. There is no admission fee for spectators, but the club asks that all guests bring nonperishable food donations for the Honey Brook Food Pantry.

At the show, winners will be selected in classes such as Chopped and Dropped, Cool Convertible, Cool Commercial, Cool Custom, Great Graphics, Street Sleeper, Hottest Hod Rod, Cool Coupe and more. Winners will receive a plaque for their accomplishment.

A food truck will be present; non-fried foods like burgers and hot dogs will be available for purchase. For entertainment, a DJ will play a mix of classic and modern tunes. Marvin also said an ice cream truck might also be at the show.

"Car culture is a really great culture; it's just amazing," Marvin said. "That's the biggest thing for me - to see the car culture invite and interact with the general public. It's just a huge blessing."

Attendees will also have the opportunity to win gift baskets. Winners will be pulled at the end of the show; registration provides one ticket to enter in a drawing, but additional tickets are purchasable. There will also be a 50-50 drawing.

"We have a large variety of gift baskets," Marvin said. "It's one of our top fundraisers, and we never know what we're going to have. We get everything from hanging plants to baskets that are made up, like chocolate baskets or movie night baskets. ... We always have at least 12 or 15, usually more than 20."

Draggin' Wagons holds two annual car shows - one in the spring and another in the fall. The shows typically attract about 50 to 200 cars, depending on the weather; Marvin is hoping to see at least 100 to 150 cars at the fall show after a showing of 135 cars at a chilly spring show.

"We just had such a diversity, and to me, that's the coolest part," Marvin said of the spring show. "We had a '37 Cord, meticulously restored 50 years ago, still looks pristine and drives, and then you have a guy coming in with a half-finished hot rod that he's been working on. ... The young guys (come) with the pickup trucks and motorcycles."

Proceeds from the upcoming event will benefit local charities, including the Honey Brook Food Pantry, Steeple to People Ministries, Good Works Inc. and the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. Marvin said the club usually raises between $1,200 and $1,500 with its fall show, depending on the weather.

The club has roughly 60 members who meet on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Honey Brook Lions Club, 14 Mount Pleasant Road, Honey Brook, with the exception of December, when the club holds its annual holiday dinner. At the March meeting, club members nominate and vote on the charitable causes that they will support in the upcoming year.

Membership forms and packets of information about the club will be available at the upcoming show for prospective members; people do not need a classic car to become a member.

"Everybody's welcome, and it's a fun, family day," Marvin said.

The club's spring 2027 show is tentatively set for Sunday, May 2.
