Downingtown To Host NFL Hall-Of-Famer Brian Dawkins

Parents, students and Downingtown Area School District community members are invited to a one-of-a-kind wellness event on Wednesday, Feb. 23, when National Football League (NFL) Hall-of-Famer Brian Dawkins will present an interactive program, "A Wellness Conversation with Brian Dawkins."

The event will take place at Downingtown High School East, 50 Devon Drive, Exton, from 6 to 8 p.m. Attendees must register to attend by visiting http://www.dasd.org/diversity and clicking on News and Events.

The conversation will focus on adapting, overcoming and conquering life's challenges by looking at pain and discomfort from a more enlightened perspective. The goal is to leave attendees inspired and motivated to perform at the highest level possible, whether that's on or off of the field.

Dawkins is a former American football safety who played 16 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Philadelphia Eagles. Often the underdog and challenged by mental health struggles early in his career, Dawkins could have easily gone astray. Instead, the guiding presence of his family, friends and faith served as a constant beacon of light along his path to becoming one of the most feared competitors in the NFL and a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.
