Donegal Alumni Band Dedicates Bench

On Sept. 19, the Donegal Alumni Band dedicated a bench in honor of the late Glen Leib.

Debbie Painter, Leib's daughter, was in attendance along with her husband, Matt. Numerous spectators joined in to celebrate the event, and the band videotaped a segment for WGAL.

Leib was a music educator in the Donegal School District for more than three decades. He impacted and urged thousands of students to pursue music as a lifelong activity. He led the marching band in parades and music festivals, including the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Parade and the Cherry Blossom Parade in Winchester, Va. Leib continued to inspire by founding the Donegal Alumni Band 20 years ago.

The band participates in parades and musical events in central Pennsylvania. The band is not limited to Donegal High School graduates; anyone may join. For more information, visit the band's Facebook page or http://www.donegalalumniband.com.
