Dewald Funeral & Cremation Services has hired a new funeral director, Caleb Wilde.

Wilde is a 20-year licensed funeral director, a licensed insurance agent and a pre-need counselor. He grew up around the funeral business, and started working in funeral service at his family's business at the age of 15.

Upon graduating from Lancaster Mennonite High School, Wilde joined Youth with a Mission (YWAM) for two years, serving in Texas; Madagascar; and Madison, Wis. After his time in YWAM, he enrolled in Northampton Community College's funeral service program, becoming a sixth-generation funeral director when he was licensed in 2006. 

Wilde obtained a graduate degree in theology from the former Biblical Seminary and completed his postgraduate work at the University of Winchester, England, in the program "Death, Religion and Culture."

He has authored two books, "Confessions of a Funeral Director," a Nautilus Award Winner, and "All the Ways Our Dead Still Speak," which earned the Publishers Weekly Starred Review. He is currently enrolled in Eastern University's MBA program.
