Cycling program available for beginners

Lancaster Bicycle Club will offer its beginners' cycling program, the Bike to 30K Program. Celebrating 10 years, the program serves to assist new and returning cyclists and help break through any barriers that may keep them from enjoying the riding opportunities in Lancaster County.

The first session will take place on Wednesday, April 3. The first four weeks will offer classes, and bike rides will begin the week of Monday, April 29, and continue to be held over the next seven weeks. The first ride will be 5 miles, and the program will end with an 18-mile bike ride. Once registered, participants will receive detailed information about the program schedule. Participants may join the program at any time.

The Bike to 30K Program is free and open to everyone, regardless of skill level, what type of bike a person has, or how long it has been since he or she has ridden. The program will take participants through all aspects of cycling, from basic bike maintenance and repairs to conditioning and mindfulness, and getting out on a bike safely and with confidence. The program takes a mind and body approach to cycling, adds prizes, and celebrates participants on their journey.
