The Elizabethtown Lions Club and the Rheems Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) will hold the 21st annual Cruise-in and Chicken Barbecue on Saturday, Sept. 17. Presented by Moats' Auto Repair, the event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, at Rheems VFD, 350 Anchor Road, Elizabethtown. Spectators will receive free admission and parking.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. The cruise-in is open to cars, trucks, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, tractors, boats and equipment of all types and ages. Dash plaques will be given to the first 150 entries, and there is a discount for those who register in advance.

Dinners including half-chickens from Peters' BBQ may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a drive-through pickup option available. Organizers ask that barbecue tickets be purchased in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available on the day of the cruise. Additional food and vendors will be on-site also.

All proceeds will support Lions sight charities and the Lions' support of Elizabethtown-area organizations, including ECHOS, the Community Cupboard of Elizabethtown and the Elizabethtown and Rheems fire departments.
