Craft Show To Benefit Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue

A holiday craft show, featuring items handmade by supporters, friends and volunteers from Lucky Dawg Animal Rescue, will take place at Freedom Village Brandywine, 15 Freedom Blvd., Coatesville, on Saturday, Nov. 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the rescue, which provides foster homes for cats and dogs until they can be permanently adopted.

Lucky Dawg held a smaller-scale craft show in 2020 at Marchwood Tavern in Exton, but the show is returning to Freedom Village this year as one of the rescue's largest fundraisers. Admission is free and open to the public.

"For the most part everything is donated, so we get (nearly) 100 percent of sales," said Lucky Dawg board member Becca Budzik, event organizer. "We also have some outside vendors coming in."

Offered for sale will be handknit and crocheted items, tote bags, custom-painted signs, Christmas decor and Christmas ornaments, as well as dog and cat items, including homemade pet treats. "We will also have baked goods for sale, like fudge, that will individually wrapped," noted Budzik.

In addition to the craft sale, there will be a silent auction table and an opportunity to win gift items.

Adoptable cats, kittens and dogs will be on-site during the craft show. Among those on hand will be Yoda, an 8-year-old female chihuahua, who is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Yoda is house trained, crate trained and cat and dog friendly.

The holiday craft show will be held in the fourth-floor auditorium at Freedom Village. Visitors should follow the event parking signs, use the main entrance at Freedom Village and ask in the lobby for directions to the auditorium.

"It will be decorated for Christmas and very fun and festive," Budzik added.
