County Approved For Public Assistance

Dauphin County is now eligible to receive Public Assistance (PA), which provides funding for repairs to public infrastructure. Federal aid has been granted to augment state and local recovery efforts in the areas damaged by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. Twelve counties have now been declared eligible for PA. Damage assessments are continuing, and additional counties may be designated at a later date.

All seven categories of PA are now available to commonwealth and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a 75% cost-sharing basis for eligible expenditures in these counties. Projects using PA may include emergency work, debris removal and repair or replacement of damaged roads, bridges and other elements of infrastructure. PA funding also covers partial or complete repair of schools and other critical functions such as public water tanks or sewer systems. Projects will be approved only if they are necessary as a direct result of disaster damage during the designated timeframe.
