Community Rings In 2022 At "Neverland" Festival

LIV E-Town recently invited the community to spend New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 2021, at the Winter's Promise Festival, a free event in downtown Elizabethtown. The festival had the theme "Neverland."

Instead of making a New Year's resolution, community members were invited to make a New Year's promise, such as a promise to themselves or a promise to positively affect their community. Individuals could write their promises on snowflakes and hang them in the square.

In keeping with the "Neverland" theme, community members could meet fairies, pirates and Lost Boys. They could also visit the Winter's Promise Fairy at Santa's cottage.

The event also featured fire twirler Emma Schneider, a Fairy House Scavenger Hunt with prizes from Mars Wrigley, face painting and a unicorn pony. Ice sculptures were sponsored by Fulton Bank, Mars Wrigley, Second Chance PA and the Elizabethtown Police Department.

Expressions Limousine of Lancaster provided trolley rides down Market Street, offering attendees a look at the lights downtown. Riders could disembark at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church's Welcome 2022 event for entertainment and a chicken dinner.

Since midnight in Neverland is equivalent to 9 p.m. in Elizabethtown, a countdown to the new year took place at 9 p.m., courtesy of Ross Productions and The Tatted Toy Guys.
