College posts summer camps

York College of Pennsylvania has announced the launch of its inaugural YCP Summer Academy, which will provide hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities in various fields. The Academy consists of three programs: Spartan Explore, Spartan Prep, and Spartan Sport. The YCP is designed particularly for middle and high school students, but Spartan Sport programs are also open to younger children.

Spartan Explore, for middle-schoolers, will be held from Monday, June 9, to Friday, Aug. 8. This program will offer full-day camps where students can dive into subjects such as robotics, esports, creative writing, and self-defense. The camps are designed to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and teamwork.

High-schoolers may attend Spartan Prep during select weeks in June and July. The immersive half-day programs, taught by York College faculty members and industry experts, will offer students opportunities to explore potential career paths while gaining hands-on experience. Sessions will include Music Industry, Financial Investment, Nursing and Health Professions Bootcamp, Esports, Creative Writing, and more.

Spartan Sport, open to students of all ages, will consist of various camps throughout the summer months. The program will focus on skill-building, teamwork, and athletic development. Led by York College's NCAA varsity coaches, the camps will cover a range of sports and provide specialized instruction to help athletes reach their full potential.

There is a fee for each program. Discounts are available for siblings as well as children of York College and York Country Day School employees. Students are encouraged to register early, as spots are limited. For more information and to register, visit http://www.ycp.edu/summer-academy.
