Seven members of the Hempfield Class of 1949 gathered on Oct. 24 for a 75-year anniversary luncheon in the board room of Hempfield's administration building, which was once their high school. The "Forty-Niners" shared memories and stories from their time at East Hempfield Township High School, which is now the administration building. Some of them went on a tour of the building.

The classmates present at the reunion were Richard Bachman, Phyllis Dougherty, Arlene Gingrich, Martha Gingrich, Kenneth Miller, Jeanie Robertson and Helen Swarr. The Class of 1949 had 39 members, and eight are still living.
