Church To Screen Documentary

East Petersburg Mennonite Church, 6279 Main St., East Petersburg, will present a special screening of the documentary "Unexpected Peace" on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 6:30 p.m. There will also be a post-film discussion featuring filmmaker Jonathan Bornman.

Directed by D. Michael Hostetler, the documentary has received acclaim, including the ETHOS Award for Peace and Human Connection at the 2024 ETHOS Film Awards. The documentary was also previously nominated for Best Picture at the Red Rose Film Festival.

"Unexpected Peace" takes viewers from the Amish community in Nickel Mines to active Sufi Muslim peacebuilding practices in Harlem and on to interreligious harmony efforts in Solo, Indonesia. Learn more at https://unexpectedpeace.com.
