Church To Host Wednesday Night Programs

Lancaster Church of the Brethren (COB), 1601 Sunset Ave., Lancaster, will present its fall semester of Wednesday Night Live from Sept. 10 to Nov. 12. Each week will include a meal by donation at 5:30 p.m., followed by activities for children and youth and an adult class in the church's chapel at 6:30 p.m.

In the adult class, Lancaster COB member Bob Kettering will host a series called "All in the Family," which will feature guest speakers representing members of the Anabaptist family who will share some of their group's history, beliefs, and practices. This year marks the 500th anniversary of the Anabaptist movement. Topics and speakers will include "Mennonite Church Overview," Steve Nolt, Sept. 10; "Lancaster Conference Mennonites," Dale Stoltzfus, Sept. 17; "Old Order Amish," Ben Riehl, Sept. 24; "Church of the Brethren," Don Fitzkee, Oct. 1; "Seventh Day German Baptists (Ephrata Cloister)," Doug Gehr, Oct. 8; "Old German Baptist Brethren," Bob Matthews, Oct. 15; "Dunkard Brethren," Bob Lehigh, Oct. 22; "Brethren Church (Ashland Brethren)," Dale Stoffer via Zoom, Oct. 29; "Charis Fellowship (Grace Brethren)," Jared Burkholder, Nov. 5; and "Brethren in Christ," John Yeatts, Nov. 12.
