Church to Host Musician

Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, will host Sandra McCracken in concert on Saturday, May 9, at 7 p.m.

McCracken is a Grammy-nominated, Dove Award-winning singer-songwriter, author, record producer, and creative leader based in Nashville. With a career spanning 25 years and 18 solo albums, she has become a prominent voice in modern hymnody and gospel-roots music. She is known for blending Americana, folk, and sacred traditions.

Many of McCracken's songs, such as "We Will Feast in the House of Zion" and "Thy Mercy My God," have been used in worship services around the world. Fellow artists featured on her recordings have included Ellie Holcomb, The FAITHFUL Project, All Sons & Daughters, and Keith and Kristyn Getty. McCracken's music has also appeared on "Grey's Anatomy."

A staff writer with Creative Nation Publishing, McCracken co-writes with acclaimed artists such as Luke Laird, Blessing Offor, Tom Douglas, and Cindy Morgan. Beyond music, she is the author of the book "Send Out Your Light" and the children's book "Maker of the Mountain."

McCracken also hosts the podcast "The Slow Work" with Christianity Today and has been a longtime contributor and columnist for Christianity Today and other publications. She currently serves as dean of imagination and creativity at the Goldenwood Institute, a New York-based faith and work nonprofit, and she mentors young artists through initiatives like the Red Vineyard songwriter fellowship.
