Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ (UCC), 1850 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, will host Mocktails & Meaning gatherings on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 15 and 16.

The program on Oct. 15 will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the main lobby. Retired surgeon and public health advocate Dr. Edward Chory will lead a conversation about the current state of public health in Lancaster County and the potential benefits of establishing a county health department. There will be time for questions. A nonalcoholic aperol apple cider margarita will be served.

On Oct. 16, the church will screen the documentary "Lightworkers," which brings together personal stories from individuals who have taken action in response to social, political, and environmental challenges. Through a mosaic of voices, Lightworkers explores individual choices, collective responsibility, and the question "What can we do?" The screening is intended to encourage community members to reflect on their own role in strengthening their communities and participating in civic life as the 2026 midterm elections approach.

A light dinner will be available from 5 to 6 p.m., with the documentary beginning at 6 p.m. The screening will be followed by a question-and-answer time with director Bobby Roth.
