Church Plans PeaceFest

PeaceFest: Forging Peace & Cultivating Justice Together will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz. PeaceFest is a family-friendly event designed to bring people together in hope, education, fellowship, and action around a shared vision of a more peaceful world. Sponsored by the Peace and Justice Committees of local Church of the Brethren congregations, PeaceFest reflects a longstanding commitment to promoting peace, justice, and nonviolence within local communities.

The event will include presentations by Shane Claiborne, who is a speaker, an activist, an author, and a co-founder of RAWtools Philly. There will also be a demonstration by RAWtools, an organization guided by the vision to "disarm hearts, forge peace, and cultivate justice." RAWtools is known for literally forging guns into garden tools, echoing Isaiah 2:4.

Throughout the event, attendees may also enjoy food trucks, music, face painting, balloon animals, the Tree House Playground, and a variety of hands-on activities for people of all ages while engaging in conversations about peacebuilding, community care, understanding, and well-being. Participants are also encouraged to bring donations for the Lititz Warwick Community Chest food bank.

PeaceFest is free and open to the public. For additional information, visit https://etowncob.my.canva.site/peacefest2026.
