Church plans Music Series

Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2151 Oregon Pike, Lancaster, will begin its 2023-24 Music Series with a "Double Piano Concert" on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The opening concert on Oct. 21 will feature Duane Funderburk and Jamie Rankin. The church will borrow a Steinway grand piano to add to its own grand piano in the sanctuary. The concert will begin at 7 p.m.

Pianist Funderburk is a composer and arranger of numerous sacred choral and instrumental compositions. In addition, he is the co-director of worship and arts at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, Calif., and is a collaborative pianist and coach for the string students and faculty at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Wash.

Rankin is a lecturer at Princeton University and the director of the Princeton Center for Language Study. In addition to working with the music team at Stone Hill Church, he is active as a choral arranger, providing music for a consortium of youth choirs in Germany, as well as for Princeton's oldest a cappella group, the Princeton Nassoons.

A freewill offering will be received. Piano teachers are encouraged to bring their students, and buses are welcome. The facilities are handicapped-accessible.
