Church Plans Anniversary Celebration

Robeson Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3520 Plow Road, Mohnton (Plowville), will celebrate its 250th anniversary at a worship service and catered dinner on Sunday, Oct. 30. The festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m.

The congregation began with a group of Lutherans gathering in their homes in the 1760s and obtaining land from the family of William Penn to build a church and establish their congregation in 1770. The church building that now stands is the third church erected since that time.

An anniversary book with a condensed version of the church's history, along with advertisements from members, friends, and area businesses, will be available at the dinner. Anyone with a connection to the church is encouraged to attend the celebration. Reservations are requested for the dinner no later than Thursday, Oct. 27, by calling 610-856-7242 or emailing ddemarco@dejazzd.com. There is a fee to attend the meal. Former pastors and the spiritual son of the congregation will be present to share a few words. Entertainment will be provided by the Harmony Praise Choir.

Robeson Lutheran Church seeks to serve the needs of its community and to witness for Jesus Christ.
