Chicken barbecue stand to open

Abner Esh has announced that he and his family will offer barbecue chicken every Saturday from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day at 94 Peach Lane, Ronks, located between Strasburg and Georgetown. Opening day will be on Saturday, May 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; free coffee and whoopie pies will be offered.

Legs, thighs and half-chickens will be available, as well as complete dinners that include a leg or thigh or a half-chicken with two grilled potatoes, coleslaw, a dinner roll and a whoopie pie. Beverages are sold separately. The potatoes are grilled with the chicken for added flavor.

Esh noted that he has been offering barbecue chicken for six years, four years at other produce stands and now at the family home.

Guests can sit and eat their meals on-site; tables are available to sit outside. Takeouts are also available. During the summer months, fresh-cut flower bouquets will be offered for sale.

Those who would like to place a large order are asked to call in advance at 717-687-5122.
