Celebrate The Season With A Harvest Party

As important as it is for people to love themselves, it's equally important for people to feel loved and welcomed by others, which is why Peach Bottom resident Debbie Zimmerman believes in community. Ever since she returned to Living Stones Vineyard Church two years ago, Zimmerman has been a very active member of the church. Through Zimmerman's efforts, this will be the second year that Living Stones Vineyard Church hosts its Harvest Party.

"I believe in community, reaching the community, and just sharing God's love in an inviting, welcoming environment," said Zimmerman. Although she is the coordinator of this event, she emphasized that she could not do it alone.

The Harvest Party will return to Living Stones Vineyard Church, 2292 Robert Fulton Highway, Peach Bottom, on Saturday, Oct. 30. The fun will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end after dark with a fireworks display donated by Bada Boom at Fireworks Fantasy. There will be a Trunk or Treat, pony cart rides, sack races, prayer and worship, pumpkin ring throwing, a craft table, a bounce house, and free food, including popcorn, hot chocolate, coffee, and hot dogs. Cavod, a nonprofit Christian school for the arts located in New Holland, will also perform at the Harvest Party. The event is free, and all are welcome to attend.

Like last year, Wakefield Ambulance Association (WAA) and Robert Fulton Fire Company (RFFC) will be in attendance. Firefighters plan to speak to the attendees about what they do, and some will participate in sack races. Donations will be accepted and will be given to WAA and RFFC.

"We're just coming out for the kids and to support the church," said fire Captain Sam Stoltzfus. "Our guys have a lot of fun with the sack racing."

For the past 15 years, Bud Stillman has served as the pastor at Living Stones Vineyard Church. "We're here to serve," he said. "Jesus said He's the hope for the nation, and we just want people to know Him to have some hope. The entertainment is fun, but the bottom line is we want people to know the Lord." In addition to serving as pastor, Stillman has volunteered at WAA for 16 years.

"Our goal is to touch the community with a family-oriented Harvest Party," noted Zimmerman. "We're celebrating God's goodness and the harvest season."
