CATRA Plans Workshops

The Capital Area Therapeutic Riding Association (CATRA), 168 Station Road, Grantville, will offer equine-assisted (horse-assisted) learning workshops. Service organization members are invited to participate in these workshops to develop skills to recruit, retain and mentor volunteers. Participants will experience hands-on learning activities with CATRA therapy horses.

A recruitment workshop will occur on Saturday, Jan. 9, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with a retention workshop on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and a mentorship workshop on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 9 to 10:30 a.m.

The workshops were designed by CATRA volunteer Robin Helm, who has spent over 25 years working in the areas of leadership, staff and team development in the nonprofit world. No horse experience is necessary. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed.

Space is limited, and readers may email robin@catra.net to make reservations.

These programs are offered free of charge, but donations will be accepted to support the therapeutic equine services offered through CATRA.

Inquiries are welcome for scheduling these workshops for nonprofit teams; interested individuals may email the aforementioned address.
