The school formerly known as Lititz Area Mennonite School (LAMS) has announced it is now Catalyst Christian School. The school changed its name in 2025 after a yearlong process of prayer, listening, and input from families, students, alumni, and supporters. The change was not the result of a sale, merger, or change in ownership. Catalyst is now in its second school year under the new name.

For over four decades, Lititz Area Mennonite School provided students with a Christ-centered education rooted in biblical truth, strong relationships, and spiritual formation. Those commitments remain at the heart of Catalyst Christian School.

School leaders said the name change came about as the school grew and recognized that its former name no longer fully communicated the scope of its mission. "Lititz Area" could unintentionally limit perceptions of the school's reach, while "Mennonite" sometimes created confusion for families who shared the school's Christian faith but did not come from a Mennonite background.

The name Catalyst reflects the school's desire to spark transformation through providing education, igniting faith, forming leaders, and launching students into lives of Christ-centered influence. For Catalyst, the change represents not a new beginning but the next chapter of a longstanding school community.
