CAP squadron assists at craft show

Cadets from the Jesse Jones Squadron 304 of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) volunteered at the Lititz Rotary Club Craft Show on Aug. 11 and 12.

The Lititz Rotary Club Craft Show is held in the second week of August annually and is the club's largest fundraiser. It includes as many as 700 vendors and attracts up to 50,000 visitors to downtown Lititz. Proceeds are donated to community charities and service organizations.

CAP members planned and implemented traffic control measures to aid vendors arriving prior to the event. They also provided overnight security patrols, keeping an eye out for any potential unauthorized activity and relaying any information to the Lititz Police Department.

Service to the community, the state and the nation is a primary part of the cadet programs within the Civil Air Patrol.

Jesse Jones Squadron 304 meets each Monday except holidays at 7 p.m. in the Venture Jets hangar, which is located at the Lancaster Airport near the intersection of Lititz Pike and Millport Road. Visitors are welcome.
