CAP Cadets Visit U.S. Capitol
Members of the Lancaster Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) visited Washington, D.C., on Sept. 23. The trip was sponsored by Rep. Lloyd Smucker.
After picking up the Lancaster Composite Squadron members with a coach bus, Smucker gave the group a tour of the U.S. Capitol. CAP members visited the floor of the House of Representatives, where they participated in a question-and-answer time and sat in the seats used by House members. They also visited the National Statuary Hall, the Library of Congress, and Smucker's office inside the Cannon House Office Building, and they viewed the city from the balcony at the Capitol.
The Lancaster Composite Squadron meets each Monday except holidays at 6:30 p.m. at Alliance Aviation, located inside the Lancaster Airport terminal at 500 Airport Road in Lititz. Visitors are welcome.
