Delton Brixius, 18, of Maytown has earned the Eagle Scout Award, the highest advancement rank within the Boy Scouts of America. Brixius was recognized in a Court of Honor ceremony on May 5 at Donegal Presbyterian Church. He is a member of Troop 53.

Each Eagle candidate must earn 21 merit badges and complete a service project benefiting the Scout's community, a faith organization or the Scout's school to demonstrate leadership. Brixius chose to build a gaga ball pit for the playground at Florin Church of the Brethren in Mount Joy.

Brixius is a member of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Lancaster, and has been active in quiz bowl, the German club and the tabletop gaming club at Donegal High School, where he is a senior. He is the son of Tim and Aleisha Brixius of Maytown.
