Breakfast will support mission trip

Fill up on food and fellowship while supporting a mission trip at the annual all-you-can-eat strawberry and waffle breakfast at Ruhl's Church. The meal will be served on Saturday, May 4, from 6 to 10 a.m., or until sold out, at the church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim.

Along with strawberries and waffles, the breakfast will feature pancakes, eggs, breakfast casseroles, bacon, sausage, home-fried potatoes and assorted beverages.

"This breakfast buffet will have a wide variety of delicious food prepared by the Mission Outreach Team," said Gail Ruhl, who is a Mission Outreach Team coordinator with her husband, Chuck. "No one should go home hungry. There will be opportunity for everyone to sit down and relax while they enjoy each other's company. At past breakfast fundraisers, many people came together with friends or family to appreciate the food and atmosphere."

Proceeds from the breakfast will help church members serve with the Central Vermont Mission and Hope Coalition. A team from the church will travel to Montpelier and the surrounding areas in June, the same area the group served last year.

"Our decision to return to the same area was made because of the catastrophic flooding and mudslides that resulted in significant property, road and bridge losses that happened several weeks after we helped this community through home repairs," Gail said. "Several of the residents we helped, along with the church who hosted us, were personally affected by this weather event." Again this year, the team will help with home repairs, such as installing drywall and flooring, fixing or building decks and handicap ramps and painting.

Gail encourages everyone to come out for the breakfast. "Attending this breakfast fundraiser is a great way to not only support our Mission Outreach Team financially, but it also gives people the chance to ask us questions about our ministry and learn more about what we do locally, nationally and globally," she stated. "It is also an informal way to learn more about our church."

No tickets or reservations are needed for the breakfast. There are separate prices for adults and children ages 5 to 12. There is no charge for children age 4 and under. For more information, visit http://www.ruhlschurch.org or call the church at 717-665-3400.
