Bird Club Sets Field Trips

The Lancaster County Bird Club (LCBC) will offer several field trips in May. The programs are free and open to the public, and registration is required by 6 p.m. on the day before the trip.

On Saturday, May 2, three Warbler Walks will be offered. One will take place at Chickies Rock County Park, 881 Chickies Hill Road, Columbia, with a 7 a.m. start; participants should contact Marie Johnston at 717-413-2086 or mariejohnston303@gmail.com to register. A walk will be held at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area, 100 Museum Road, Stevens, with a 7 a.m. start; contact Doug Anderson at 717-203-2482 or douglas.anderson58@yahoo.com to register. The third walk will take place at Pumping Station Road off Route 322 with an 8 a.m. start; contact Carl Groff at 717-471-9969 or fledge19@verizon.net.

On Sunday, May 3, the venue is the Northwest River Trail in Bainbridge with a 7:30 a.m. start. Contact Warren or Nina Wolf at 717-284-2663 or wolfers@aol.com to register.

On Saturday, May 9, the group will meet at Muddy Run Park in Holtwood with a 7 a.m. start. Contact Larry Bernhardt at 717-314-1461 or sjbernhardt@verizon.net.

Also on May 9, a bird walk for beginners and others will be held at Flory Park, 416 Dohner Drive, Lancaster, with an 8 a.m. start. Contact Sarah Gotwols at 717-940-3804 or sarahann71880@gmail.com.
