Bingo For Bus Drivers

If your child goes to school in either the Elizabethtown Area or Donegal school district, chances are he or she has ridden a Durham School Services bus. Now you can give back to the bus drivers by attending a special event.

Fall bingo will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, at the American Legion Post 34, 1388 Arcadia Road, Lancaster. The doors will open at noon, and bingo will begin at 2 p.m.

"We will have a variety of prizes like designer handbags, a movie night prize, a workout prize and more," said Stacy Moore, bingo committee member.

The event will feature 20 games of bingo, including a blackout game. Additionally, "good neighbor games" will be played. As Moore explained, "A good neighbor game is if you and I were sitting next to each other, and I was to the right of you and you won bingo, if it was a 'right side' game, I would win something also." In addition to the bingo games, a variety of giveaways will be featured, and baked goods will be for sale.

Proceeds from the event will go to fund special events held throughout the year for Durham employees, including a Christmas party. Along with transporting students in Elizabethtown and Mount Joy, Durham bus drivers also drive students at various private schools in the area as needed, including Mount Calvary Christian School in Elizabethtown.

Moore emphasized that the bingo will offer a fun afternoon out, with the opportunity to win a variety of prizes, and she invites anyone to attend. "It's a great time to start, continue or finish holiday shopping," she said.

Advance tickets for fall bingo are available for a discount if purchased by Sunday, Oct. 23. If the event does not sell out, tickets will also be available at the door. To purchase tickets, email durhampartyevents@gmail.com.
